Ode to Herman

by Frank Seeley
Assistant Principal, Cubberley H.S.

April 1, 1978

Oh give me an Ohme
Because there'll be fun,
Excitement, adventure galore.

You don't need a great tome
Weighing more than a ton
Just an Ohme, that's enough, nothing more.

Things just seem to happen
When Herman is rappin'
Excitement is ever the rule.

Kids like themselves better,
Even water is wetter,
When Herm is filling the pool.

If you've had a good thought
That no one has bought,
You're discouraged, about to give up,

Then go to the phone
And call Herman Ohme,
Your fortune will turn to good luck.

Wherever you be
Mr. E. Cubberley,
You should know that your name's been done proud,

For in eight years of fun,
He's made Cub number one.
Just ask Mr. Riles and his crowd.

Note: Dr. Wilson Riles was State Superintendent of Public Instruction and he considered Cubberley High School number one in the state.
